9th August
Just off the official site.
We regret to inform you that Justin has had to see a doctor today and
yesterday and that the doctor has ordered him in no uncertain terms to take
some time off. Therefore The Darkness will not be able to fulfil their
commitment to perform at tomorrow's Skanderborg Festival in Denmark. The
band are very sorry that this is happening but Justin's health must come
first.
His doctor's statement is as follows: "It is of paramount importance, that
he [Justin] rests and recuperates over the next two weeks. I have advised
him to cancel all professional commitments or work-related activities."
We will have more information tomorrow and will update you as soon as we
know more.
Please accept our sincere apologies on behalf of The Darkness.
3rd August
Sorry about the lack of updates.. but as the only major event that's happened recently is Liverpool, and you've heard enough about that from other people I'm sure I've decided to keep quiet on that subject.
26th June
For now, Dan Hawkins.net is back up! I'm on school holidays now, therefore will be working more on the site. So any updates from now on will be broadcasted on the news page!
4th June
danhawkins.net will not be updated for the forseeable future. This is just because, for the moment, I have lost my motivation for the site, and I'm entering a new school year which will be promising a lot more work. At some point in the future I will come back to this site again though. Thank you everyone for your support.
If you wish to contact me for any reason, email me.
15 May
I apologise for the lack of updates, I've been extremly busy, and freewebs hasn't been exactly wonderful at the moment!
I am aware that the guestbook is fucked, and I'm about to look into fixing it
The b-sides for Girlfriend are all remixes.... the artwork can be found on the official site. I actually can't think of any more updates, but I will try and keep much more up to date in the future!
19 April
The Girlfriend release has been pushed to the 22nd of May.
You will have probably heard the Band In A Pod rumour...this has neither been confirmed nor denied.
The Darkness won Best Rock Video award at the MTV Australia VMAs, for One Way Ticket.

Well my predictions about this show were a bit off. In the pre-show team talk I mentioned that it was going to be a lot cooler onstage and it was probably the hottest it's ever been. I could actually ring out my pants with sweat (nice) after the show.
There was quite a young audience and they usually end up being the loudest, which they were. Justin was on particulary good form tonight, it was like a kid who had eaten too many sweets and had me cracking up the whole show. I think it was up there with my favourite shows, apart from having a pint of water thrown at me which went into the electronics of the guitar (which had to be taken apart and dried with a hair dryer) but hey, that's rock 'n roll for you.
Adelaide is a great place and we had a good drink with a load of fans after… We stayed in the same hotel as when we were there for the Big Day Out 2004 and it brought back a lot of memories, all the bands travelled and stayed together in the same hotels… I half expected to see one of the ***** ** **** (insert band name here) pissing into the water fountain… Australia does that to you you know…
Anyway, we are all well rested, had a few days of doing promo for the Australian VMA's (which we are nominated for two awards and at which we are perfoming twice!) and looking forward to playing Brisbane, the Gold Coast is just outstanding…

Two tour diary entries from Dan, from Australia-
April 4, 2006 Metro City, Perth, Australia |
|
The last time we were here was for the Big Day Out tour in 2004 and it was the most ridiculously debauched tour we had ever done. It was also the most fun, getting to hang out, and travel with the other bands on the bill day after day is a very rare (and dangerous) thing. Aussies seem to be able to enjoy themselves at a show more than anyone else, which is why it is (and has been since Big Day Out), our favourite place to tour in the world.
Very jet lagged but still very excited we went out and did our best and the crowd were the loudest we've ever encountered (even louder than Milan!) They were deafening, and well up for rocking out. There were so many people trying to get in the queue was twice round the block and we had to go on later than planned to fit them in! The whole show was one big highlight and the party after, legendary… This Australian tour is going to be amazing…

Another two sold out shows, and one of the tightest shows we've played. It was so hot it was ridiculous… Weirdly the first night (Thursday) the crowd were more excitable than the Friday. It's a bit strange when you do two nights in the same venue 'cos during the show you can't help comparing one night to another.
For everyone at the second show, the guy who had the siezure had recovered by the time security got him out – I thought Justin did a good job of filling the time, although for some reason they didn't get Richie's butchers shop joke… (Maybe I'm the only one who finds it funny.)
Anyway a couple of awesome shows… And a couple of huge nights out! I'm late with this diary entry, in fact I'm in the dressing room of the Adelaide venue listening to our support band After The Fall (who are doing a pretty good job of warming up the fans) and I haven't got changed yet so I'd better get moving. The Adelaidians sounds like they want to rock… they've come to the right shop!

30 March
You can now view the Girlfriend video here. It is due to be released on the 15 May 2006.
22 March
The tour dates page has been updated with some European festivals in the summer.
Dan has also updated the tour diary... ignore the twats at the gigs! If they're stupid enough to waste their money coming to heckle a band, and can't see the brilliance staring them in their face, fuck 'em!
17 March
I'd just like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTIN! Have a great day, i can only imagine what the aftershow's going to be like tonight.
And to all Irish Fans, Happy St. Patrick's Day, as you can see the site has had a colour change to celebrate for the moment.
15 March
More updates from Dan on the road at the Tour Diary
11 March
There has been more updates by dan on the tour diary... inculding him saying that while drunk, he fell out of a taxi and sprained his wrist? However, all's well, and despite being bandaged, he's still playing as well as ever... let that be a lesson to you Dan!
From the official site there has been a statement about the Belgian show
CHANGE OF VENUE IN BELGIUM
Please note there has been a change of venue for our show in Belgium on Monday 13 March. No longer will it be at Brabanthal in Leuven but rather we will be returning to the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels for the first time since 2004! Original tickets will be valid for the new venue.
4 March
I am really sorry for the lack of updates recently, been having computer problems so i can't get online much at the moment!
Justin himself said at the band's recent Oslo gig that Girlfriend IS the next single... i'm guessing a release date in May.
on MySpace, Dan has posted a bulletin with a tour diary-like entry. For those of who don't have MySpace, he said-
Tour Diary - Oslo Show
Well last night was the first gig of the tour in Oslo, Norway. The place held about 2000 and was sold out. It's the smallest show we've done for a very long time and it makes a change to see the "whites of their eyes". Tonight heralded the return of the “walkabout” and saw the introduction of Justin's new entirely gold les paul. I had more technical breakdowns with my guitar rig last night than in the last three years! My guitar tech Adi did a great job of re-wiring and salvaged the show! I guess sometimes your equipment takes a battering when it's shipped to differen't countries! Anyway, I still really enjoyed the show, the fans went beserk (I think Justin even got his fancy new camera out to take pictures of them at one point!) And everybody had a great time. We went to a nice quiet bar with our support band The Ark and then back to the grand hotel (one of my favourites). We're now in Gothenburg (Sweden) after a 200km bus ride and I'm getting ready to go out with the guys to a resteraunt...mmm...Italian anyone?
- Dan Hawkins
The Darkness have also announced they are playing Rock am Ring, and Rock im Park in Germany on June the 3rd and 4th.

Is Is Just Me? has debuted in the UK charts at number 8.
19 February
3 photos from Brighton have been added to the Tour 2006 page.
The Darkness are appearing on GMTV, on Thursday 23rd, between 8:35am and 9:25am, for a chat and they will also be performing Is It Just Me?
Also, a reminder that Is It Just Me? will be released tomorrow. I have heard both b-sides so far... let's just say if you saw the South Bank show ages ago, Shake(Like A Lettuce Leaf) will sound very familiar. I have to give credit to Dan's producing, it is fucking awesome, much more like the old, rawer PTL sound.
And also, a new band has been added to the 'links...' page. They are Vintage Keyboard. Check them out.
17 February
2 more lovely photos from the SECC have been added to the tour 2006 page.. thank you to Mr Sparklemoney for them!
16 February
More piccies had been added from the Glasgow SECC... Some of you may notice that Emz's were all thumbnails.. a problem with the host, they shall return in due course when i fix the links.
15 February
A shedload of photos from the Glasgow SECC have been added to the Tour 2006... and there's more to come later on!
13 February
I have returned... and all i can say is- Wow. They are even more fucking amazing than i remembered. I was second row from the front the entire time, and despite being small and getting crushed, i remained in my place. A full review will be up soon, along with photos, but for now, i'd just like to say to Dan- During English Country Garden, the redhead who you pointed at, then gave the thumbs... it was me. though i'm pretty sure you realised it...
Anyone going to future gigs- you will have a fucking brilliant time, i can promsie you that. When's the next tour now people?
Special thank you to Alexa, Evan, Aimee, Darren, and everyone else i'm forgetting for making last night even better!
8 February
Tour dates for Australia and Japan have been added to the tour dates page!
5 February
Lots of pictures of The Darkness at The Point yesterday, which can be found in the new Tour 2006 page. Thanks loads to Evan for them, please don't use without his permission.
The Darkness are also playing a gig in... wait for it, Australia! Yes, on the 6 April they'll be playing The Palace in Melbourne.
4 February
Scans from Zero can be found here.
And today was the kick off point for The Darkness' tour! Starting in Ireland at The Point, they played an awesome gig... and I know, as i got 6 phonecalls from a rather awesome friend of mine. I heard Love Is Only A Feeling, Seemed Like A Good Idea, Blind Man, Hazel Eyes, Get Your Hands Off My Woman and I Believe In A Thing Called Love. Blind Man certainly was a surprise... I won't spoil it, but even those who despise it, will adore the live version! All this has just made me even more excited about seeing the boys in Glasgow... rock on the 12th!
2 February
Happy February everyone!
Scans from Total Guitar can be found here.
There is a small interview with Dan in this week's Kerrang! about the forthcoming tour. Picture of Justin here, and the interview here.
There is also a feature with the boys, in this month's Zero magazine.
31 January
There is an interview with The Darkness in this month's Total Guitar. I don't have it yet, but the page i've seen of it looks like it's promising to be an awesome interview.
There is also an interview from FoundryMusic, which can be found here. Dan talks about Frankie(again!) singles, recording, America's food and, er, his porno collection (or lack of.
) Thanks Laurie!
30 January
Artwork for the 'Is It Just Me?' single can be found here.
29 January
On Saturday 11 February, The Darkness are doing a performence of Is It Just Me?
There is also a huge, and rather techy interview with Roy Thomas Baker in this months edition of Sound On Sound.
28 January
Thanks to Alexa for typing up the following interview, and taking screencaps. it was with the Finnish programme LISTA, where several fans got to meet the band after the interview. It can be found here. Please don't take it without her permission.
Second Update: Wow... I was so caught up in the excitment of yesterday to remember that... yesterday was the day that 2 years ago, i for some reason decided to make this site. It was domainless, only had 7 pages, and was a bit crap. But, through endless promotion through friends and forums, look where it is! What makes it more fitting is that Dan signed it on the exact day it was made... scary. I don't know why i made it.. maybe i just wanted Dan to know how appreciated and how much I, and so many others love him. And I'm just happy he knows.
Anyway, I've typed out the piece from Kerrang!, and it can be found here.
27 January
In this week's Kerrang! there is a page all to Dan, where he talks about songs that chnaged his life... in there, unsuprisingly, is Thin Lizzy and Queen... i will type it up this weekend and put it on the site.
And last night, the boys did their warm up gig at the Norwich UEA... it was sold out, and from what i've heard, was awesome! Dan still had his classic Lizzy shirts on, which i'm very glad to see.
So from what i can gather, all those going to see them next month, you're in for a hell of a treat!
Oh, and by the way, the signing in the guestbook by a Dan Hawkins? It's 100% real guys. Dan, you have no idea how much you have made my night by signing here, thank you so much!
SECOND UPDATE OF THE DAY!
3 excellent photos of Dan from the UEA last night have been added to the Dan Live section. Massive thanks to Hoodedreaper for permission to use them.
22 January
A nice interview with Dan from the local Devon paper, which can be found here.
18 January
No new Darkness news yet guys, but all I'm saying at this moment in time is that Dan is now aware of this website. Massive thanks to Alexa, you're the best!
15 January
There's an interview with the boys in The Sunday Mail, which can be found here. they talk about the forthcoming gig in Scotland(28 days!) a giant haggis, Arse de Triomphe, Richie's first gig, Dubai, and how playing live is like going to war for Dan.
11 January
The One Earth concert has been postponed until a later (unannounced) date, to give more time for more and bigger acts to be announced. Tickets purchased for the 28th January are still valid however.
The b-sides for It It Just Me? are 'Shit Ghost' and 'Shake(Like A Lettuce Leaf)'
It has been confirmed that the support for the February arena tour is The Ark and Juliette and The Licks will be supporting the band on their UK tour.

10 January
The Darkness are playing a warm up gig in the Norwich UEA. Tickets are currently sold out, but here is the page where you can get all the information about it.
On Morning Glory today was a behind the scenes look at the Is It Just Me? video. the video's main story line is Justin marrying, er... Justin. Dan is looking as charming and handsome as ever as the Bridesgroom(not sure about the green though. Richie is looking... er, lovely, as the bridesmaid...("He was in that dress like a rat up a drainpipe..."-Dan) and Ed, in his own words "had to stand about for 7 hours to do that..." had to help Justin as pageboy(he looks more like a penguin, the new darkness theme?)
But yes, it really is awesome. Aparently it is now being aired on all music channels.
9 January
Tomorrow, at from 8:30am to 9:00am on channel 4 on Dermot's Morning Glory programme there will be a behind the scenes look at The Darkness' video for the upcomming single, Is It Just Me?
7 January
A audio interview with Dan can be found here. Thanks Evan! :)
6 January
A video interview with the boys and Roy Thomas Baker can be found here, and another one with MTV Italy here.
3 January 2006
There is an interview with Dan found at bullz-eye.com
I would like to take this chance to wish everyone a very happy new year
26 December
Merry belated Christmas to everyone!
Right... this year, a lot of things have happened for me, both Darkness related and not. obviously, we've been through a lot of Darkness stuff- losing Frankie, getting Richie, the new album. All of these things have happened, and I think it's safe to say, in the world of Darkness, all things are wonderful and well, and running wonderfully again. i know for Dan it can't have been hard going through all of this, but from what i;ve seen recently, he and the band look happy, and ready to come and show Britain and Europe rock and roll once again!
On a more personal note for me, there's been highs and lows. I'd like to say a big thank-you to everyone in my life, but in particular- my family, Alex, Siobhan, Cara, Adam, Shaz, Anders, Darren, Evan, Lisa, and everyone else.
Oh, i've forgotten someone.... of course, it's Dan. Thank you so much for keeping on going this eyar... i have no diea what it must've been like, but i've heard that the band have been close to splitting up, during the bad period... but thank you so much for continuing. You consider to inspire, and make me happy all the time, and you don't relise it. You've kept me going a lot recently, and it means so much to me. I just keep hoping that one day you'll read this, as in person i wouldn't be able to explain properly what you mean to. Thank you Dan, i hope you've had a brilliant Christmas, and all the best for 2006- See you in february!
xxxxxxx
24 December

Also, some new scans from the Big Issue have been adeed of Dan..
13 December
There have been several Europe Dates added to the tour, and Brighton has been chnaged from the 21 February to the 15th. There has also been a Plymouth date added to the 16 February. I would like to say that let ANYONE you know who is going know this, as there has been no statements or emails sent round letting fans know.
12 December
Today is Dan's birthday! If you're reading this, a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dan! I hope you have a wonderful day, and may the next year be just as excellent as this one(excluding some events obviously..) xxx
8 December
On this Saturday's CD:UK, the pre-recorded English Country Garden is going to be shown.
I have added 2 pictures to the picture page. You will have NOT seen them before, as I have bought them, making them exclusive to this site alone. If I see these pictures used anywhere else without my permission, and credit to me, they will be removed immediately and I will not be at all happy. So you've been warned, rant over, go and enjoy
4 December
I have added the December interview with Dan and Justin to the site, along with the sites, which can be found here.
One Way Ticket To Hell... And Back debuted at No.11 in the official UK charts.
29 November
Well people. It's here. Instead of listening to me ramble on, go and read here. I will slowly be adding the lyrics to the lyrics page for OWTTHAB.
27 November
Well people.... one day. Well, actually, it's 2 hours until midnight, which means 2 hours until One Way Ticket To Hell And Back is released!
There was an interview today in the Culture magazine from the Sunday Times, which can be found here.
25 November
Bloody hell! I don't know about anywhere else, but Edinburgh has had a shit-load of snow, and it's not even 11am...
Anyway, i've re-orginised the 'Recent Pictures' page so the most recent ones are thumbnails. We also have a lovely new guestbook, which would be nice if you signed
EDIT: Hazel eyes lyrics have been added in all their glory, here. Massive thanks to Evan for them. And also, there's a new addition to the Recent Pictures page... thanks to Mimi from the Danlings forum.
24 November
The new album is reviewed in this week's Kerrang! with a new pic of the boys, and it is given a 5K! rating(basically the highest.) There is also a large, banner like poster advertising the new album.

And a large helping of Dan...
21 November
Well everyone... 7 days! This time next week we'll have the new album!
One Way Ticket has debuted at Number 8... can't say I'm exactly chuffed, but the lack of a DVD single probably has accounted for it!
On radio 1/2, so far Knockers, Is It Just Me? and Seemed Like a Good Idea have all been played.
Is it Just Me? is already a favourite, with a rockin' guitar riff, catchy lyrics, and a fucking awesome solo! Knockers is a song which is sure to have you nodding, and singing the line which stand sout most- "I love what you've done with your hair". And Seemed Like a Good idea. Much slower, but a very beautiful song. however, with the backing orchestra it makes me wonder how they're gonna do it live... only time will tell i guess!
17 November
I have added the Classic Rock pictures to the page with the interview, located here.
As you see, the site is now pink. it's not meant to look all girly, I just think pink is a much more darkness-esque colour, and it also goes with the fact it's new album and single, therefore new colours.
Also, I have added the confirmed Europe tourdates to the tour page.
16 November
The OWT ticket single and Vinyl are now out. I really like the b-sides and it's worth getting the single jsu tot hear Wanker and Grief hammer.
2 new interviews added, one from today's Kerrang, which can be found here. And another with Classic Rock(I'll add the photos soon) here
13 November
There's a lovely interview with the boys from the abc magazine, which comes with the Independant on Sunday.

Interview Transcript here
I have just added screencaps from tonight's Top of The Pops. The boys seemed to be much more at ease onstage, and it was brilliant, despite the mimed instruments! Screenies here
10 November
I have typed up some of this weeks Kerrang(trust me, it's very sore on the eyes!) and scanned all of the pictures(both Heaven and Hell.) You can find it here. (Dan in the hell picture...
) I have also added (bad quality) screencaps of One Way Ticket, which can be found here.
9 November
Woah. This weeks Kerrang has been completely attacked by the Darkness! I don't have it yet, but so far, I know
It has a theme- heaven and hell- so their are two different covers! One is the band all in white, looking heavenly... the other is all in black, looking very devilish! I've made a new site lgoo which yuo can see on the main page. Expect scans and the inverview typed up tomorrow. They will be appearing with their 'lairiest ever' interview next week!
6 November
Right, i've finally seen the video, so if you do not wish to know what happens, stop reading!
It starts off with Justin narrating a monologue that goes as follows.
The year is 2005, and
the absense of significant
rock-based music of
exceptional quality has
resulted in the unthinkable....
Hell has frozen over.
The music starts and we cut to a scene in Iceland, with a rough handmade sign saying "Hell" and pointing downwards. We go downwards to see Justin dressed as a devil with the full teeth, nose and horns sitting in an icy domain. he is clutching a hot waterbottle with his feet in a bucket of water. Next to him is a snowglobe with a caste inside. Securely under the globe is a "One Wat Ticket"
The camera zooms in on the globe, through a window of the castle. We see The Darkness gathered round a fire. Justin is joking around. But this time we're at the line "the first line hit me like a kick in the face." This line is shown by Justin jokingly aiming a kick at Dan's face, causing Dan to burst out laughing. JustinDevil meanwhile, picks up the snowglobe and shakes it angrily, casuing the band to go flying round the room. When he stops, the band peer curiously out of the window of the caste, before opening a cupboard where ski-equipment comes tumbling out.
Cut to a snowy Icelandic landscape, with a sign pointing to Bolivia, and The Darkness walking in the opposite direction. meanwhile, justinDevil is shaking the snowglove, getting angerier as the band are no longer there. We then see The Darkness walking with snowshoes through the landscape, before hopping into snowmobiles and driving through the snow. they reach a mountain, and start pick-axing their way up.
We are at the second chorus now, which cuts to The Darkness playing as an incompitent Indie band. Justin is bald, Ed is playing on bass, Ritchie on guitar, and Dan tapping slowly at the drums, with Justin hopping on one foot wildly. DevilJustin picks up a snowball at this point, and hurls it at the Indiers, crushing them.
The Darkness have now reached the top of the mountain, and are gathered round a picnic table. We see a Justin in a penguin suit headingtowards us on a flying carpet, clutching a bag with The Darkness logo on it. When he gets there, the band cheer as he dishes out a curry. Justin pays Penguin, who shoves his beak up, and shurgs. We see a brief shot of the foot, before Justin picking up a chilli and biting into it.
The heat of it takes him by suprise, and he wildy fans his mouth, when suddenly an avalanche starts. The band get up and sprint down the mountain, followed by penguin. Cut back to devilJustin, who is rolling the One Way Ticket into a tight little tube. Back to The Darkness, who have been caught up by the avalanche. They stick their heads up out of the snow, just in time to see a huge tube heading towards them, and to be snorted up, along with a load of snow. We briefly see the band's journey into DevilJustin's nose, before we see DevilJustin looking elated.
He starts to dance around exctiably, and hell bursts into flame around him, the high of the snow getting to him. The band are back in snowbiles again, being follwed by Penguin, sliding down on his stomach. We cut between these two scenes, before firey words burst onto the screen.
Turns out the lads from
T'Darkness have defrosted hell
and saved Rock 'n Roll
again....
While the words appear, we hear Justin doing manic laughter, interrupted by a coughing fit....then it was all over.

Pictures of the boys from CD:UK can be found HERE.
The video can be found on kerrang tonight between 12:am and 1am on kerrang!

The site's email address is now- danhawkins.net@googlemail.com
28 October
A new pic of our boys has been added, taken from their MySpace. Dan looks very 18th Century vampire.... mmmm
And also, we have news on the video!
He's A Snorty Devil
Justin Hawkins will appear as a giant septum-abusing devil in his new video.
The promo for the single 'One Way Ticket' will see The Darkness frontman, 30, snorting lines of tiny indie bands.
The song is a good-humoured anti-drugs track and as I told you earlier this month, the new album starts with the sound of someone cutting up and snorting cocaine.
A source close to the band told me: "We shot it on location in Iceland where there's an abundance of snow everywhere. Since the song's all about cocaine addiction, it seemed appropriate to have mountains of white powder in the video."
Despite its serious subject matter, good old Justin still keeps his outrageous sense of himour.
My source added: "I don't know if it will make the final cut, but there's a scene where a giant Justin snorts up a line of foppish Indie bands. He also appears as a devil and has been fitted out with a full-on prosthetic devil suit."
And there's even talk of a big name guest celeb appearing in the video to play another devil.
I'm told: "There are all sorts of rumours about who might be in it."
The video was shot last weekend. A spokesman for the band said: "All I know is it's very lavish."
And there's one further potentially humourous sting in the tale. There's talk of the B-side to the new single being a wittily-titled track about night -time manipulations that isn't on their new album. The name rhymes with banker.

Screencaps of Growing on Me have been added.
22 October
Finally did more screencaps! I capped Dan from every angle(heh) from the Christmas Time Video. Head along to the Screencaps page to find a link. Maybe this time next year I'll have GOM done!
19 October
The album artwork ahs been released, and personally I LOVE IT! It is on a double fold, so there is a picture on the back...

16 October
A rather lovely interview with Dan in the Sunday Mail. It can be read here. I was rather amused by his comment on Justin's first catsuit. And he appears to like us Scottish fans, cosa we're the best
But there was a mention of a tour In Feb 2006, including the Glasgow SECC! Nothing confirmed, but my fingers are crossed!
15 October
I've finally got my hands on kerrang and typed up the interview, and scanned the front page. It can be located here
I've also added the picture of Dan in it to the recent pictures page
14 October
Well I suppose it's safe to say this now! 10 people were picked off the Darkness' official forum, The Darklings, and Disasterpieces' Darkness Site to hear a priview of One Way Ticket to Hell... And Back. Yes, the entire album. I personally did not go(even though if it wasn't for circumstances i would've been able to
) One of my good friends has gone, but he has still refused to tell me anything about it! Apparently there are to be reviews shortly on the official site so stay tuned All i know is that those who went got a promo CD of the single, as well as a promo photo of the boys(the same one featured in Kerrang! which i still don't have...sorry dudes)
Also, apprently, according to recordstore, the b-sides for One Way Ticket Are Grief hammer(single version) Wanker(vinyl version) and there's been mention of a track called... Loozin' Lane? i'm not saying any of this has been confirmed yet though.
12 October
The Darkness(well, Dan and Justin) are this weeks Kerrang giving a track by track review of their new album. Transcript will be up tomorrow, as are pictures. there are also going to be a few more reviews by people on the new album... but that is all i can say on the matter for the moment
4 October
Shown in The Sun, the front cover appears to be as follows-
And I have added a lyrics page, which currently contains One Way Ticket, all of Permission To Land, And Xmas time. In the near future i shall also do the b-sides.
3 October
As many will know and heard, One Way Ticket was played this morning on radio 1.
But what if you didn't hear it? Well my friends, go here. Enjoy.
The track starts with a amazing guitar rift, with the few second breaks being filled with the sound of cocaine being cut into lines and snorted, before the song kicks in. In the falsetto of Justin's voice are lyrics about cocaine, and basically what it does. And the solo is done via... Sitar!
And the chorus is easily one of the most catchy ever, getting embedded in your head and forcing you to sing along constantly. All in all, it has already become my favourite single of the year. It is fantastic, and despite what others have been saying, it's awesome!

Band News
There is now a Tracklisting for the new album-
One Way Ticket
Knockers
Is It Just Me?
Dinner Lady Arms
Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time
Hazel Eyes
Bald
Girlfriend
English Country Garden
Blind Man
And we realise the title comes from the making of the album, as Dan and Justin explain that the band split up and reformed during the making of it, until the 'problem' (Frankie, as it were) was removed. And in Dan's words, now they feel they are "the best band in the world again". Too damn true, and great to hear!
