Dan has got several guitars that he uses live onstage. He uses mainly les Paul Gibson Standards, but also has a few customs and other models. Here is a brief summary of them.

Les Paul Custom, 3 Pickup Black Beauty

Dan uses custom  Ernie Ball strings, in the following gauges- 11, 15, 22p, 32, 44, 54- an extremly heavy gauge. Dan requests a change of strings for his guitars before each and every gig. He uses his own custom signature plectrums- Dunlop .73mm Tortex(shown below*)

Dan uses 3 Marshall L100 and one Matamp Green 120 heads through 6 Marshall 1960 Vintage cabs- 3 AX, and 3 BX's, both 4x12" cabs.

At the front of the stage when The Darkness are playing live, is Dan's pedal board. This has a Mike Hill line splitter, and 2 Boss Ls1 line selectors. One cuts the sound to the amp channel when it's not needed, the other sending the whole signal to a Boss TU2 tuner.Then is a rare vintage Ibanez Tube Screamer, which Dan uses for his solos. Then is a Line6 Delay Modeller out of which, left and right, two leads are sent to the amps, so when they run, they run in stereo.

Dan also has a whole load of pedals,gadgets,effects and the like that he uses when in studio. All of his cables are Canare GS6s, and all his jacks are either Switchcraft or Neutrik straights.
